In just 29 short days, Vancouver will host the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. To be honest I wasn’t all that excited about the Olympics but when we heard the Olympic flame would be making a stop in Edmonton on it’s way to Vancouver, Sarah suggested that we head down to Winston Churchill Square to see it in person. Considering this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to witness a part of the Olympics up close, I decided that we couldn’t pass it up and I’m glad that we didn’t. There was something magical about seeing the Olympic flame in person and watching Doreen Ryan light the cauldron. Unfortunately we didn’t get down there as early as we should have and didn’t have the best spot for photos but I managed to get a few decent shots of the crowd and some of the ceremonies held on the stage. Now that I’ve had a chance to witness a small piece of the Olympics I have to admit that I’m more excited to watch them and cheer on Team Canada! Go Canada Go!
