After a winter season that seemed to last forever, the sun has finally returned to Edmonton, the trees have bloomed, patios are open, and the 2011 wedding season is officially underway for us. We met up with Sherena & Clay for their engagement session on a windy evening last week. To escape the wind, we headed down into Edmonton’s river valley which offered a bit of protection from the wind but not much shelter from the mosquitoes. We were so excited when Sherena + Clay told us they were going to bring their dachshund Hershey with them. Those who know us are probably aware that we also have a dachshund named Neko and since we are both dog lovers, we get so excited when couples want to involve their four legged family members in the shoot. As we were walking between locations, we realized that three of our couples this year have dachshunds so we’re starting to recognize a trend here. Perhaps we’ll be Edmonton’s official wedding photographers for couples with dachshunds.
Despite the windy conditions, we found some great spots to photograph Sherena + Clay before we headed to the Muttart Conservatory to get some shots near the pyramids. The lighting conditions were so amazing and the wind let up briefly to get some great shots in the soft light. We can’t wait for Sherena and Clay’s wedding this September! Here are a few favourites from the session.
What a gorgeous session! That light is so pretty!
Thanks Nikole! Wouldn’t it be great if we could shoot all of our weddings at this time of day too!
