Edmonton Engagement Photography – Amanda & Kelvin

Amanda and Kelvin will be getting married in Edmonton this summer and we met up with them a few weeks ago on the grounds of the Royal Alberta Museum to photograph their engagement session. Engagement sessions are a great way for us to get to know our clients  and for them to get to know us. It’s also an opportunity for our couples to become more comfortable in front of the camera and work on a few posing issues while we’re not faced with the time crunch of a typical wedding day. We like to keep things loose and comfortable so our style of photography isn’t big on being overly posed in the traditional sense of the word. However there are some little things we can all do to look our best in photographs. From the way we stand, what we do with our hands and arms, to the positioning of your body; all can help make a great photograph look even better.

Engagement sessions also offer us some insight into what our clients like and don’t like so that when it comes to the wedding day we can make sure that we are taking more of the style of photographs that they like rather than images that we might appreciate from an artistic sense. Some couples like to be silly and goofy while others are more reserved and traditional so we definitely take everyone’s personalities into account. During this session for example, Amanda commented to us that on their wedding day we’ll have to remind her to be more outrageous so you can bet we’ll be holding her to that when the big day arrives.

We had such fun goofing around with Amanda & Kelvin and enjoyed some beautiful light on this particular evening. Can’t wait for the big day to arrive and we are honored that you have chosen us to photograph one of the most important days of your lives. Here is a small collage of some of the photographs from our session together.
