Terri & Nathan are one of those couples who love to laugh, are comfortable being silly with one another, and can’t stop smiling when they are in the presence of each other. We first met them at Stephanie & Buddy’s wedding last year and we were so excited when they chose us to photograph their wedding this year.

Our day started out by photographing everyone getting ready at the hotel which is always one of our favourite parts of the wedding day to photograph. There are usually a lot of emotions before the ceremony and plenty of laughs as stories are exchanged between good friends and family members.

Terri & Nathan are very active in their church and they held their ceremony at Bethel Community Church in north Edmonton.

Afterward we headed to nearby Rundle Park to do photos with the family and wedding party.

From there we headed back to the south side of the city to photograph their reception at the Celtic Hall. We had a great time with Terri & Nathan and we look forward to sharing the rest of their images with them.

It was supposed to be an outdoor affair in Red Deer but torrential rain and  hurricane force winds resulted in a change of plans for Kim & Conrad’s wedding in Red Deer. But the rain and wind didn’t dampen the couple’s spirit as friends and family gathered at the Black Knight Inn in Red Deer to celebrate their union.

Kim & Conrad were introduced to us by fellow photographer Tom Lim and we were thrilled to photograph their special day which started out at Crystal Orchid Hair Design with the girls getting ready. Afterward, Sarah headed over to get a few shots of the guys getting dressed. While all of this was happening, Kim & Conrad’s amazing wedding planner Lori from Crystal Orchid Weddings, was busy transforming one of the conference rooms at the Black Knight Inn into a beautiful room for their ceremony. Originally they had planned to have their ceremony in a park in downtown Red Deer but a nasty summer storm hit overnight. Brides – this is exactly the reason you should always have a Plan B if you’re planning to have an outdoor wedding in Alberta at any time of year.

After their ceremony, the weather was still pretty bad so we made our way over to Dentoom’s Greenhouse for photographs with the bridal party. Special thanks to Rebecca & her mom for allowing us to take shelter from the storm in your beautiful greenhouse.Kim & Conrad Red Deer Wedding Sneak PeekOnce we were done photographing the happy couple and their bridal party, we headed back to the Black Knight Inn for their reception. Lori did an amazing job with the decor and the room looked amazing. We particularly loved the table markers that Kim & Conrad chose which featured photographs of them at different ages based upon the table number. Such a cute idea!Kim & Conrad Red Deer Wedding Sneak PeekKim & Conrad Red Deer Wedding Sneak Peek

Kim & Conrad, once again we thank you choosing us to photograph your wedding. We hope you enjoyed your day and will look back on your photographs for years to come with plenty of fond memories.

To be fair we did have a backup plan but cancelled it when we saw how nice pictures with rain were and we hated the thought of an indoor ceremony. We purchased a bunch of cool umbrellas and had arranged for tents and whatnot to be delivered to the ceremony but unfortunately the wind kiboshed that.

Just goes to show no matter how many precautions you think you’ve taken there could always be some type of freak weather you don’t anticipate (if it wasn’t rain and wind it probably would’ve been hail!)

Wow! It’s been a busy few weeks and we have a bunch of weddings that will be hitting the blog over the next few weeks. Next up is Larysa & Dylan. We had a fabulous time getting to know these two and their wedding day was an absolute blast from beginning to end. It was a day filled with plenty of laughs and a few tears. We both started the day photographing Larysa & Dylan getting ready – Bruce with the girls and Sarah with the guys. One of our favourite things during getting ready is when our couples give each other gifts. Larysa gave Dylan an awesome watch and Dylan surprised Larysa with a really cool bike. If we’d had more time I’m sure Larysa would have taken it out for a spin but we had to get to Saint Josaphat’s Cathedral for their ceremony.

Larysa & Dylan Edmonton Wedding PhotographersWe drive past it all the time but this was our first time photographing a wedding at St. Josaphat’s and it’s a beautiful church inside with very ornate decorations and paintings.Larysa & Dylan Edmonton Wedding PhotographersAfter the ceremony we headed down to the Muttart Conservatory for photographs with Larysa & Dylan’s family and the bridal party. We were also joined by the bride & groom’s beautiful German Shepard. The weather held out for the most part and we only had to duck under trees for cover a couple of times.Larysa & Dylan Edmonton Wedding PhotographersLarysa & Dylan Edmonton Wedding PhotographersAfter photos at the Muttart, the bridal party headed to MKT to enjoy a few refreshments and we took the opportunity to do a few more photographs with the wedding party and happy couple.Larysa & Dylan Edmonton Wedding PhotographersFrom there we headed to the Chateau Louis for their reception and Larysa & Dylan had some great decor including a library themed seating chart complete with old school sign out cards that you’d find in the back of your library books.Larysa & Dylan Edmonton Wedding Photographers

Larysa & Dylan, thank you again for choosing us to photograph your wedding and we hope you enjoy your sneak peek. We can’t wait to share the rest of your photographs with you.
