Caroline & Ryan’s Winter Wedding in Edmonton

Today we’re excited to share a sneak peek from Caroline & Ryan’s wedding in Edmonton. They had planned on having a fall wedding but Mother Nature had other plans for Caroline & Ryan on their wedding day, but that’s life in Alberta and you have to be prepared to roll with the punches. We met Caroline a few years ago when she was a bridesmaid in Meghan & Andre’s wedding and since she had such a great experience working with us, when it was time for her wedding we were the first photographers she contacted to photograph her big day.

Caroline & Ryan originally met about 10 years ago on Whyte Ave outside of Fat Franks as the bars on the popular street were closing down. Caroline’s friends had left her by herself and Ryan being the gentleman that he is, approached her to see if she needed a ride or if he could help. Since they had just met, Caroline graciously turned down his offer of a ride but Ryan made sure that she got into a taxi and got home safe that evening however she left before he could get her contact information. Fast forward several years later, Caroline and Ryan decided to dip their toes into the online dating world and ended up meeting for a date. It was at that date that they realized they had met before and figured this must be a sign that they were meant to be together.

Fast forward a couple more years to their wedding day. Their ceremony was held at St. Thomas D’Aquin where they also did a quick first look before the ceremony to get the nerves out of the way before seeing all of their friends and family. After the ceremony & family photos at the church, we briefly headed outside for some photos with the bridal party and happy couple in the fresh snow. It was pretty chilly and windy that day so after Ryan rescued his bride from the clutches of a giant snowman, we made our way to the Highlands Golf Club so they could warm up before their reception.
