Hard to believe that we are just a few weeks away from the start of fall but summer finally decided to show up in Edmonton. Better late than never and just in time for Amanda & Kelvin’s wedding day this past Saturday. We had such a fun day with A+K and their fabulous wedding party. The day started at Amanda’s mom’s house which was built in 1904, a full year before Edmonton was even a city! Amanda & Kelvin decided to do a first look and do all of their photographs prior to the ceremony which gave them more time to spend with the guests and enjoy their reception. After the first look we headed to a park nearby her mom’s house for some photos with the wedding party followed by a quick stop in Louise McKinney Park to finish up formals before heading to the Citadel Theatre for their ceremony. The group were real troopers and hung in there despite the hot afternoon sun and warmer than usual temperatures. After the ceremony we headed over the Shaw Conference Center for their reception. Hockey is very important to Kelvin and he is a diehard fan of the Edmonton Oilers so they made their grand entrance to the Hockey Night in Canada theme to a round of applause.
Thanks again to both of you for choosing us to photograph your special day. Here are a few quick picks from Saturday’s wedding. Can’t wait to share the rest with you soon!
The day was organized by Michelle French and her wonderful team from Behinds the Scenes Events and they kept everything running smoothly and on time. If you’re a soon-to-be bride & groom, you should definitely consider hiring a wedding coordinator to take care of all those small details so you can relax and enjoy your day. Other vendors we had the pleasure of working with included:
- Bridal Party’s Hair and Makeup: Mud Studio
- Florist: Coral’s Design
- DJ/Band: Paradise
- Limo Service: Good Times Quality Limo
- Tuxes: Derks Formals
- Wedding Dress: Wedding World
