Tami & Roland’s Destination Wedding in Cabo San Lucas

We’re always honoured when someone trusts us to photograph one of the most important days of their lives but we’re especially honoured when one of our closest friends asks us to photograph their wedding. That was recently the case with Tami & Roland who invited us to join them in Cabo San Lucas to photograph their destination wedding. Tami & Roland were joined by a small group of their closest friends and family for an intimate wedding and reception at the Hotel Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas in sunny Mexico.

It was the perfect day for a wedding with temperatures in the mid 20’s,  barely a cloud in the sky and just enough of a breeze to make things a bit more comfortable for a bunch of pasty Canadians who hadn’t seen the sun in a few months. The day started out with the girls enjoying a few mimosas while Roland’s sister Cassie worked on their hair and makeup. Meanwhile, the boys were able to soak up a few rays poolside while enjoying a few cold beverages before they had to get start getting into their suits. Tami & Roland’s ceremony was held at one of the hotel’s private wedding gazebos as they had a few guests with some mobility issues that would have made it a challenge getting down the beach. They also didn’t want to take the chance of having other hotel guests hanging out in their banana hammocks in the background while their ceremony was taking place.

After the ceremony was complete and family photos were taken in a nice shady spot, we explored the beach and resort with the wedding party for more photos before dinner. Dinner was held at one of the hotel’s a la carte restaurants and then after dinner, they had a private section near the pool reserved for their low-key reception.

And of course what kind of destination wedding would it be if the entire bridal party didn’t participate in a trash the dress shoot the next morning which included everyone jumping into the pool in their wedding attire.
